Prof. Dipl.-Arch. Holger Kehne

Holger Kehne studied at Münster University of Applied Sciences and at the University of East London. After obtaining his degree in architecture, he played a major role in setting up the architecture firms Plasma Studio and GroundLab in London, where he is now director. He also teaches at the Architectural Association School of Architecture. He has won among others the Next Generation Architects Award, the Young Architect of the Year Award, the ContractWorld Award and the
HotDip Galvanising Award. His work is published and exhibited all over the world.

Thomas Willemeit is Dipl.-Ing. Arch. and Founding Partner.


Thomas Willemeit studied architecture at the Technical University Braunschweig, where he graduated as Dipl.-Ing. Arch. in 1997, and partook the masterclass for architecture and urban planning at the Bauhaus Dessau. Besides his successful career in the architectural field, he won numerous national prizes as a violin player and a chorister.
In 1998 Thomas Willemeit established GRAFT in Los Angeles together with Lars Krückeberg and Wolfram Putz. With further
offices in Berlin and Beijing, GRAFT has been commissioned to design and manage a wide range of projects. GRAFT has
won numerous national and international awards and earned international reputation throughout its existence.
In 2009 the GRAFT founding partners co-founded Solarkiosk AG together with Andreas Spiess, which affiliate companies are
incorporated in ten countries worldwide today.
With GRAFT Brandlab Thomas Willemeit, Wolfram Putz, and Lars Krückeberg established a branding agency together with
Linda Stannieder in 2014. The agency operates at the interface of architecture, design, and branding.
Since 2015 GRAFT offers sustainable housing systems in modular design in order to quickly construct accommodations for refugees. The company called Heimat2 was founded together with three other companies working in project development and communication.

Gert Prantner completed his studies at Cornell University School of Administration in the USA, Beckenham Technical Institute in Beckenham/England as well as Centro di Addestramento Proffessionale Alberghiero in Rome.
The experienced manager has been active in the hotel industry since 1954. Gert Prantner assumed the position as executive director in Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten in Hamburg in 1968. Under his direction, the hotel was voted the best in Europe and the second-best worldwide. During this time, among others, he was a board member of Leading Hotels of the World and president of the Westin International Europe hotel group. Additionally, in the position as managing director, the experienced hotelier managed Arkona Hotel GmbH from 1994 to 1998, a hotel group that operates eight hotels in Germany in the 4-star sector.
Gert Prantner is the managing partner of RIMC – International Hotels & Resorts GmbH, which he founded in 1990 and which has its headquarters in Hamburg. Today, the focus will be on his experience in hotel management as well as the planning and implementation of hotels and concepts for mixed real estate. RIMC operates worldwide and has subsidiaries in Benelux, India, Italy, Austria, Russia and Switzerland.

During his studies, Johannes Stöbe‘s focus was on the disciplines geography, business administration (technical), geoinformatics and geology. Johannes Stöbe successfully completed his practical diploma thesis at TransSolar Energietechnik GmbH. He started working at Deutsche Gesellschaft for Nachhaltiges Bauen e.V. (DGNB) in 2010. Here, his focal area was directly in the field of certifications. Mr Stöbe is responsible for system development and consulting.

Marian Braue

Marian Braue is a state-certified technician (mechanical engineering) and is employed as sales director at MWB Power GmbH – one of the first addresses when it comes to every type and design of marine und stationary engines.
He completed an apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic and specialised in machine and system technology before attaining his qualification as a technician at the technical school in Bremen.
As a project manager at Motorenwerke Bremerhaven AG (MWB), Mr Braue’s focus was on the design, planning and calculation of integrating hydraulic, electric and exhaust technology. What is more, he assumed responsibility for everything from planning, right up to the commissioning of cogeneration units in the output range between 50 - 400 kW.
In addition to being a project leader, Mr Braue went on to assume responsibility for regional sales management. His professional expertise is found in the calculation of hydraulic systems and the preliminary design of exhaust systems as well as process work planning and calculating the costs involved.  Regarding market-oriented product development, he worked on the construction of plants and plant sections, and Mr Braue also carried out the feasibility studies of cogeneration units.

Uwe Splieth is a graduate engineer and works in the constructional engineering sector. He completed his studies at the School of Engineering in Hagen and was awarded a diploma at the University of Applied Sciences in Bochum. He was employed at Standard Real Bau GmbH Leonberg as a site manager in Berlin – project management as well as general planning and branch management was included in his field of responsibility. A number of years later, Mr Splieth changed to THS Consulting GmbH, which has its headquarters in Essen/Gelsenkirchen.
Mr Splieth has been the managing partner of Uwe Splieth GmbH in Unna since 2009. Architects and engineers who are authorized to sign building documents, as well as a draughtsman and another technical co-worker work in this office partnership of the engineer network in cooperation with the architectural practice Stadtmüller. Mr Splieth is a member of Ingenieurkammer Bau NRW (Chamber of Civil Engineers) and Bund Deutscher Baumeister (BDB) (Union of German Master Builders).

Astrid Stadtmüller is a graduate architect and managing director. Ms Stadtmüller studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart and was awarded her diploma in 1989. She subsequently worked at Kohlhoff + Kohlhoff in Stuttgart before changing to the architectural practice Widmer & Wehrle in Solothurn. Already in 1992, Ms Stadtmüller assumed responsibility for architecture project management and project management at the planning office Pirich & Schönpflug in Gerlingen/Berlin, before changing to the architectural office Gegus and Hellenkemper in Herdecke two years later. She has been working as an independent architect in Unna since 2001 and has also been a managing associate of Uwe Splieth GmbH since 2009. She is the first chairwoman at Bund Deutscher Baumeister (Union of German Master Builders) in the Hellweg  district group, in addition to being a member in the following associations: Architektenkammer NRW (Architectural Chamber); representative assembly of AKNW05; Bund Deutscher Baumeister (Union of German Master Builders, Architekten and Ingenieure e.V. (BDB) (Registered Association of Architects and Engineers); Arbeitskreis Altbausanierung des Kreises Unna und Architekturforum Unna (AFU) (Working Group of Old-Building Renovation of the Unna Dirtrict and Architecture Forum Unna).

A Senior Consultant to Horwath HTL Health & Wellness, Fabian plays an instrumental role in the research and development of bespoke wellness-centric hospitality and mixed-use development feasibility studies. Before joining Horwath HTL, Fabian worked as the Assistant Manager of Hotel Development with Orascom Hotels & Development. He was involved in the development of all luxury hotels and resorts in Oman, Montenegro, Morocco, Egypt, and Switzerland. Prior to his engagement in the development industry, Fabian began his hospitality career with the Ritz-Carlton Hotels in China and Thailand. Fabian graduated with two Bachelor Degrees in International Hospitality Management and Finance from Glion Institute of Higher Education and Les Roches-Gruyere University of Applied Science, Switzerland, also, a Certification in Hotel Real Estate Investments & Asset Management from Cornell University, USA, and the Swiss Restaurant License, brings multidisciplinary experience as an operator, developer, and researcher to his work.

Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk is the author of numerous design reference books, a university lecturer and co-managing director of JOI-Design – a leading European hospitality interior architecture and design studio which has recently launched a product design division, Products by JOI-Design. Alongside business partner and husband Peter Joehnk, who founded the Hamburg-based practice in 1984, JOI-Design brings to life luxurious hospitality destinations around the globe. The team shapes award-winning atmospheres for the world’s top brands as well as independent boutique properties.

Over the years and under Corinna’s guidance, JOI-Design has been honored with a number of international awards. Their design of Hotel Kompetenz Zentrum near Munich yielded a prestigious Gold Key Award, whilst other recent projects have received accolades from German Design Award 2017, Hotel Property of the Year 2016 and London Design Awards 2016.

Volkwin Marg, founding partner, born 1936 in Königsberg/East Prussia, Prof., graduate architect, 1965 co-founder with Meinhard von Gerkan of the architectural partnership of von Gerkan, Marg and Partners, 1979 to 1983 president of the Bund Deutscher Architekten (BDA), 1986 professor of Town Planning, Faculty of Architecture, RWTH Aachen, member of the Deutsche Akademie für Städtebau und Landesplanung, member of the Freie Akademie der Künste, Hamburg, 2007 principal of the Academy for Architectural Culture (aac). Numerous awards, including Fritz Schumacher Prize, bronze plaque of the Freie Akademie der Künste, Hamburg, BDA Prize, Federal Cross of Merit.
Since its inception it has grown to include four additional partners and one partner for China, eleven associate partners and more than 500 employees in thirteen cities in Germany and abroad. They won more than 350 first prizes in national and international architectural competition competitions and completed over 390 buildings to date.

The architectureworld  is going to be presented by Klaus Luig. After studying civil engineering and architecture at the University of Dortmund, he founded the studio 3L Architects together with Veronika and Theodor Lenze. He and his team are working on national and international architectural projects with demands on holistic design. He also developed projects in the health and social property up to 25 million € single investment.

Klaus Luig teaches at German universities, as well as in China, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates. In addition, he has published seven books and several articles and initiated 30 national and international research and development projects.

Lydia Wegner

The Deutscher Hoteltag is moderated by Lydia Wegner. Ms Wegner studied interior design. As a sales manager, she were employed at "habitat" Möbel in Hamburg, founded by Sir Terence Conran. As a freelance interiordesigner, she worked on projects for BoConcept Munich and Düsseldorf.
Ms Wegner is a freelance interiordesigner and focuses on the implementation of projects in the office, hospitality and private living areas in Europe and India. She is focused to design living concepts, furniture, custom furniture and floor plans.
She works in a sales manager / interiordesigner at Kreon / Belux NRW, who is specialized in the creation of highly professional lighting concepts.
